The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires the U.S. Department of Education to collect certain data and submit specific reports.



Annual Report to Congress

The Department, as required by Section 664(d) of the IDEA, submits an annual report to Congress on the progress made toward the provision of a free appropriate public education to all children with disabilities and the provision of early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities.

State Data Collection (618 Data)

Section 618 of the IDEA requires each state to submit data about infants and toddlers who receive early-intervention services under Part C of the IDEA and children with disabilities who receive special education and related services under Part B of the IDEA.

There are 12 data collections authorized under Section 618 of the IDEA.

Under Part B:
