Following a tough year, we want every student engaged and excelling academically in the 2021-22 school year. Here are some steps you can take to accelerate academic achievement this academic year. Below are resources from the Department of Education and across the Federal government to support this effort.

  • Reengage disconnected youth
  • Provide every student summer enrichment opportunities
  • Identify gaps in academic opportunity
  • Invest in evidence-based strategies to address lost instructional time, especially for students most impacted by the pandemic
  • Invest in high-quality career and technical education to create high school to college to career pathways
  • Invest in educators, including building a diverse teacher pipeline and ensure teachers at high-need schools are paid competitively
  • Invest in early learning opportunities like high-quality pre-kindergarten
