WASHINGTON (May 23, 2022) – The Office of Special Education Programs released an OSEP Fast Facts on educational environments of school aged children with disabilities.
The new OSEP Fast Fact highlights the environments in which children with disabilities receive special education and related services.
According to the OSERS blog, the new OSEP Fast Facts show 66.17% of all school aged children served under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), received services inside a regular class 80% or more of the day.
The OSERS Fast Facts addresses the education environment of the percentage of students with disabilities receiving IDEA Part B services by factors such as race/ethnicity, disability category, services received in separate schools, and services received in parentally placed private schools.
OSEP Fast Facts is an ongoing effort to display data from the 12 data collections authorized under IDEA Section 618 into graphic, visual representations with the intent to present 618 data quickly and clearly.
Visit the OSEP Fast Facts page for existing and future Fast Facts.
