WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 20, 2023) — The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) released two new OSEP Fast Facts sharing data collected on children with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The OSEP Fast Facts infographics look at both authorized data collections under Parts B and C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) during school year 2020-21 and Fall 2021.
The Part C infographic addresses Section 618 data related to infants and toddlers, birth through age 2, while the Part B infographic addresses Section 618 data related to children and youth, ages 3 through 21.
An OSEP blog provides highlights from the OSEP Fast Facts, including decreases in the number of children with disabilities served on school year 2020-21 and increases in infants and toddlers receiving in-home services in 2021-22.
