Box 1088Albuquerque, New Mexico 87103-1088Dear Ms. Yepa:The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) at the U.S. Department of the Interior has asked if a portion of its funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), reserved for administration under 34 CFR 300.710, can be used to pay for 50% of the salary of an attorney in the Solicitor's Office that would be assigned specifically to special education on a half time basis. The attorney would be employed by the Department of the Interior, but would not be assigned to work within the BIE, and would be assigned to work on IDEA-related issues for 50% of the time.The cost principles applicable to State and Sincerely,/s/Patricia J.
