The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics and the Aspen Institute are hosting a series of White House Initiative Latino Economic Summit across the country with the participation of the White House, federal agencies and local leaders. These in-person community events highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing equity and economic empowerment and connect local Latino community members directly with federal leaders and resources.
The purposes of the summits are to:
- Demonstrate the impact of the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and other initiatives in Latino communities across the country,
- Highlight the Administration’s commitment to advancing equity and core priorities (climate change, economic recovery, COVID-19, racial equity) through resources administered by American Rescue Plan to the Latino community,
- Connect local Latino economic infrastructure and ecosystem to Federal resources that will set them on a path to economic opportunity, growth, and wealth creation and
- Increase the connection Latino constituents and leaders have with the Federal government and federal resources/programs by connecting them with national and regional appointees, federal career staff, offices and services across departments.
