While Latinos make up one quarter of students in public schools and 17 percent of the undergraduate population, Latinos only represent 4 percent of the total number of our U.S. higher education faculty.
The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics (Initiative) recognizes Hispanic professors nationwide. With the #LatinosTeach online campaign the Initiative will demonstrate that while they are underrepresented, Hispanics are dedicating themselves to serving their community through teaching.
The Initiative is proud to recognize the following Latino professors around the nation:
State University of New York Plattsburgh, Plattsburgh, NY
Northeastern University, Boston, MA
The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH
