Interagency Working Group

Who We Are

The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics’ Interagency Working Group (IWG) consists of senior officials from various federal agencies and offices working together to strengthen the link between the federal government and the Hispanic community. Each agency will be represented by a senior level representative who works with programs, funding, and initiatives that significantly impact Hispanic communities. They will represent their agency at IWG meetings and facilitate the creation and implementation of their respective agency plans. In addition, they will be joined by an agency team that will help their representative’s capacity to collaborate across key agency components in developing and implementing their agency’s action plan as well as uplift their agency’s key resources, programs, and accomplishments for the Latino community.

What We Do:

The IWG supports the efforts of the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics and collaborate regarding resources and opportunities available across the Federal Government to increase educational and economic opportunities for Hispanics and Latinos. The IWG is designed to fulfill EO 14045 requirements, while complementing the work of the White House Initiatives for other diverse communities and the Administration’s broader equity agenda. The IWG will work to 1) advance more equitable policies and practices within agencies, 2) remove systemic barriers to boost the Latino community’s engagement with agencies’ programs and resources, and 3) demonstrate the Administration’s commitment as the nation’s largest employer to model diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) and build an inclusive workforce.
