The President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders transition to the U.S. Department of Commerce

On May 13, 2019, President Trump signed the Executive Order on Economic Empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (EO). This EO will work to empower Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to improve the quality of their lives, raise the standard of living of their families and communities, and more fully participate in our nation’s economy.

The EO establishes the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (Commission) and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (Initiative) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The Department of Education and the Department of Commerce have been working together to transition the Commission and Initiative from Education to Commerce. We are pleased to announce that these offices will transition to the U.S. Department of Commerce on October 1, 2019.

To contact the Initiative and Commission at the Commerce Department, please email WHIAAPI@doc.gov. During this time of exciting change, the transition team thank you for your support and ongoing work on behalf of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders across the country and territories.

 Sincerely,

The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
