N.C. A&T Receives Five-Year, $5 Million Grant from National Science Foundation’s CREST program

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST) Bioenergy Center’s recently announced a five-year, $5 million project with North Carolina A&T State University. An interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers from the university will work to make the production of advanced biofuels more efficient and affordable.

Delaware State University Awarded a School-Record $10.5M Grant for Neuroscience Research

Delaware State University recently announced a five-year $10.5 million research grant that will fund the establishment on campus of the Delaware Center for Neuroscience Research, a joint endeavor by DSU – the lead institution — and the University of Delaware. Delaware State University will receive $7.3 million over five years, while the University of Delaware will receive $3.2 million.

John S. Wilson Jr. Appointed 11th President of Morehouse College

The Morehouse College Board of Trustees recently announced that John Silvanus Wilson Jr. has been named the College’s 11th president.  Wilson currently serves as the executive director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

2012-13 White House Fellows announced, two are products of HBCUs.

The President’s Commission on White House Fellowships recently announced the appointment of the 2012-2013 Class of White House Fellows, and two of them are products of our nation’s HBCUs. Amen Ra Mashariki, a three-time HBCU graduate and Jason Washington were selected as WH Fellows based on their personal achievements, leadership record and commitment to public service.
